A walk-off double from Tim Yandel brought home the winning run for the Bethesda Big Train (14-3) in a 4-3 victory over the Gaithersburg Giants (4-11) at Shirley Povich Field on Monday.

Yandel racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Bethesda Big Train. He doubled in the ninth inning.

Michael Rescigno pitched lights out for the Bethesda Big Train. Rescigno held the Gaithersburg Giants hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three.

Drew Aherne was solid at the plate for the Gaithersburg Giants. Aherne went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the third and fifth innings.

Joshua Thorne improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Bethesda Big Train. He struck out none, walked none and surrendered no hits.

Ryan Selmer ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked one, struck out four, and allowed one run.
