Zach Kirtley went 2-4, sparking the Bethesda Big Train (29-11) to a 2-0 victory over the Alexandria Aces (19-21) on Sunday at Shirley Povich Field.
He singled in the first and eighth innings.The Alexandria Aces' lineup had no answer for Tim Yandel. The Alexandria Aces managed just two hits off of Yandel, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out five during his five innings of work.
Kevin Superko allowed one earned run, five hits and one walk while striking out three over six innings of work.
Tyler Tobin improved to 2-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Bethesda Big Train. Tobin struck out one, walked none and gave up one hit.
Superko (2-3) took the loss for the Alexandria Aces.
