The D.C. Grays (7-10) used a three-run explosion in the eighth inning to get past the Vienna River Dogs (5-7) 12-5 on Monday at James Madison High School.
The D.C. Grays scored in the eighth on a two-run double by Kurt Sinnen and an RBI double by Colton Shaver.
Tony Holton racked up four RBIs on two hits for the D.C. Grays. He doubled in the fourth inning and homered in the sixth inning.
Enrique Oquendo brought the heat against the Vienna River Dogs during his outing. The Vienna River Dogs managed just one hit off of Oquendo, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four during his two innings of work.
Mike Sciorra got on base three times in the game for the Vienna River Dogs. He singled in the fifth inning.
