A superb effort by Evan Harder carried the Columbia Basin (14-3) to a 2-1 win over the Big Bend (7-7) on Thursday at Columbia Basin Baseball Field.
Harder got the win for the Columbia Basin thanks to eight strikeouts. Harder allowed no earned runs on two hits and three walks over seven innings.
The Big Bend were ahead early but they ultimately surrendered the lead for good. The Big Bend were up until the sixth inning, but the Columbia Basin had other plans for the final outcome, taking the lead back on a sacrifice fly by Aaron Enderlin.
Enderlin had two extra-base hits for the Columbia Basin. He doubled in the second and fourth innings.
Sam Krapf put together a nice outing. Krapf held the Columbia Basin hitless over one inning, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.
Kaleb Price (2-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just seven innings, walked three, struck out two, and allowed two runs.
