Matt Pagano had two extra base hits, helping the Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs (18-15) to a 10-6 victory over the Newark Pilots (13-19) on Saturday at Veterans Memorial Park.
He homered in the fifth inning and tripled in the eighth inning.William Gorman put himself in scoring position with three extra-base hits for the Newark Pilots. He tripled in the second inning, doubled in the fourth inning, and homered in the sixth inning.
Even though Marcus Failing allowed five runs over six innings he still recorded the victory, his third of the season. Failing struck out four, walked two and gave up eight hits.
Clayton Spiker (2-3) took the loss for the Newark Pilots. He allowed six runs in six innings, walked two and struck out four.
