The Elmira Pioneers (23-11) beat the Victor RailRiders (18-15) 11-6 on Friday at Dunn Field behind Justin Hayes, who had two extra base hits.
He singled in the second innings and doubled in the fourth and eighth innings.Kyano Cummings got the win, running his season record to 3-1. He allowed four runs over six innings. Cummings struck out nine, walked five and gave up six hits.
Eoin McAvinchey was charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in four innings, walked seven and struck out three.
The Elmira Pioneers' Hayden Kelly, Hayes and Tommy Mirabelli combined for six hits and seven RBIs.
