Early boost from Manea helps the Amsterdam Mohawks get past the Albany Dutchmen, 8-5

The Amsterdam Mohawks (40-10) jumped on the Albany Dutchmen (23-26) early on their way to an 8-5 win on Thursday at CPSC-Bob Bellizzi Field, scoring five runs in the first inning.

The Amsterdam Mohawks scored in the first on an RBI single by Scott Manea, , a fielder's choice, an RBI single by Craig Dedelow, and an error.

Brendan Tracy racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Amsterdam Mohawks.

Christian Maldonado put together a nice outing. The Albany Dutchmen managed just one hit off of the the Amsterdam Mohawks' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three during his two innings of work.

Zach Logue got the win, running his season record to 7-0. He allowed three runs over six innings. Logue struck out four, walked two and gave up four hits.

Nick Cioffi was charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed six runs in six innings, walked three and struck out two.
