Three first-inning runs helped the Amsterdam Mohawks (14-3) to a 3-2 win over the Newark Pilots (5-9) at Colburn Park on Sunday.

The Amsterdam Mohawks scored in the first on an RBI double by Justin Yurchak and a two-run home run by Gage West.

West racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Amsterdam Mohawks.

Evy Ruibal struck out eight hitters en route to the the Amsterdam Mohawks win. Ruibal allowed one earned run on three hits and two walks over five innings.

Patrick Ryan couldn't get it done on the mound for the Newark Pilots, taking a loss. He lasted just seven innings, walked none, struck out five, and allowed three runs.
