Second-inning rally sparks blowout win for the Amsterdam Mohawks, 6-0

The Amsterdam Mohawks (4-1) took down the Glens Falls Dragons 6-0 on Saturday at Shuttleworth Park after slamming the Glens Falls Dragons (1-4) with four runs in the second inning.

The Amsterdam Mohawks scored in the second on a solo home run by Aiden McDermott, a sacrifice fly by Andrew Rouse, a double by Drew Freedman, , a single by Justin Yurchak, and a passed ball.

Hunter Tackett reached base five times in the game for the Amsterdam Mohawks. He scored one run and had one RBI. He homered in the sixth inning.

The Glens Falls Dragons couldn't get anything going so long as Anthony Romanelli was on the hill. Romanelli gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out six during his four innings of work.

A bright spot for the Glens Falls Dragons in the defeat was Nick Duthu, who allowed only one run while striking out five.

Tyler Smith recorded his first win of the year for the Amsterdam Mohawks. He struck out four, walked none and surrendered two hits.

Sam Steeves was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked five, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
