The Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs (1-2) didn't stand a chance on Thursday, as the Elmira Pioneers (1-1) captured a blowout 10-3 win at Veterans Memorial Park.

The Elmira Pioneers scored three runs in the sixth on the Elmira Pioneers scored in the sixth on a groundout by Will LaRue, , a single by Christian Santisteban, a single by Troy Squires, and a single by Dalton Hoiles.

Santisteban racked up six RBIs on four hits for the Elmira Pioneers.

Jared Proctor put together a nice outing. The Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs managed just one hit off of Proctor, who allowed one earned run, walked four and struck out six during his four innings of work.

Ryan Bellomo recorded his first win of the year for the Elmira Pioneers. Bellomo struck out three, walked one and gave up one hit.

Ben Moxley ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just three innings, walked none, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
