Shane Martin kept the Alameda Merchants (21-14) off the board during his seven innings of work and the Auburn Wildcats beat the Alameda Merchants, 9-7.
Martin struck out nine and allowed two walks and eight hits.
The Alameda Merchants jumped out to an early lead, but they were unable to hang on. The Alameda Merchants led until the eighth inning, but the Auburn Wildcats took the lead back on an RBI single by Chris Porter.
Porter put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Auburn Wildcats. He doubled in the third and seventh innings and singled in the eighth inning.
CJ Jacobe was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked one, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
The Auburn Wildcats' Brian Rynum, Eduardo Sanchez, Porter and Jake Greco combined for eight hits and six RBIs.
