Lucca stars as the Top Speed Baseball defeat the Sacramento Heat, 10-4

A superb effort by Champi Lucca lifted the Top Speed Baseball (12-2) to a 10-4 win in seven innings over the Sacramento Heat (5-7) on Saturday at Drake High.

Lucca rocked the Sacramento Heat with two home runs. Lucca went 2-3 in the game with three RBIs and three runs scored. Lucca homered in the first and second innings.

Ten runs in the opening three innings allowed the Top Speed Baseball to easily put away the Sacramento Heat. A solo home run by Lucca, a two-run single by Drew Taylor, and a two-run single by Taylor in the first inning and a solo home run by Sam Davison, a solo home run by Lucca, and a solo home run by Chris Miguel during the second inning helped the Top Speed Baseball put some runs on the board early.

The Sacramento Heat were led by Wyatt Castro's hitting. Castro went 2-2, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the third inning and homered in the first and sixth innings.

Brandon Langan pitched lights out for the Sacramento Heat. Langan held the Top Speed Baseball hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four.

Matt Chavarria improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Top Speed Baseball. He allowed four runs over seven innings. Chavarria struck out three, walked three and gave up six hits.

Chris Moreno (0-2) took the loss for the Sacramento Heat. He allowed 10 runs in four innings, walked two and struck out none.
