Maxx Sheehan was cold coming off the bench, but Sheehan warmed up quickly as Sheehan stroked a key pinch-hit double in the three to lead the North Shore Navigators (30-20) to a 6-2 win over the Nashua Silver Knights (25-26) on Tuesday at Fraser Field.
With the score tied at one, Sheehan came to the plate and doubled.
Sheehan led the North Shore Navigators' offensive threat, as he got on base four times in the game.
The Nashua Silver Knights couldn't get anything going so long as Rob DiFranco was on the hill. DiFranco held the Nashua Silver Knights hitless over 2 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three.
Pete Gonski recorded his first win of the year for the North Shore Navigators. He allowed two runs over 5 2/3 innings. He struck out four, walked three and surrendered four hits.
Ryan Moloney ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his fourth loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked three, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
