Jeremy Giles went 4-4 at the plate, sparking the Pittsfield Suns (20-20) to a 4-0 victory over the Bristol Blues (24-18) on Saturday at Wahconah Park.
He doubled in the sixth inning and singled in the third, fourth, and seventh innings.The Bristol Blues had no answer for Austin Dick, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Dick gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out one during his 3 1/3 innings of work.
Corey Wilson improved to 3-2 on the year by picking up the win for the Pittsfield Suns. Wilson struck out two, walked three and gave up seven hits.
Tim Cate (4-1) took the loss for the Bristol Blues. He lasted just four innings, walked four, struck out five, and allowed one run.
