The Worcester Bravehearts (5-10) and the Seacoast Mavericks (5-10) each put runners in scoring position on Friday, but the Worcester Bravehearts capitalized on more RBI opportunities, pulling out a 5-3 win at Fitton Field.
Zack Tower racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Worcester Bravehearts. He singled in the third inning and homered in the sixth inning.
Clayton Dostal put together a nice outing. The Seacoast Mavericks managed just one hit off of the the Worcester Bravehearts' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his two innings of work.
Ryan Gendron had two extra-base hits for the Seacoast Mavericks. He doubled in the first inning and homered in the ninth inning.
Mike Bruemmel improved to 1-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Worcester Bravehearts. He allowed two runs over five innings. Bruemmel struck out six, walked two and gave up four hits.
Evan Flanagan couldn't get it done on the hill for the Seacoast Mavericks, taking a loss. He lasted just six innings, walked four, struck out eight, and allowed five runs.
