Mayer Jon knocked in four runs, helping the Marthas Vineyard Sharks (9-3) to an 8-3 victory over the Seacoast Mavericks (5-8) on Thursday at Vineyard Baseball Park.

Soren Hanson's eight strikeouts were enough to push the Marthas Vineyard Sharks past the Seacoast Mavericks. Hanson allowed three earned runs, four hits and two walks over 6 2/3 innings.

Ryan Gendron had two extra-base hits for the Seacoast Mavericks. He homered in the second inning and doubled in the seventh inning.

Ryan Ross put together a nice outing. Ross gave up just two hits, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his three innings of work.

Ryan Ricci (0-3) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just three innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed five runs.
