Early lead not enough for the Nashua Silver Knights, drop 6-3 decision to the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs

The Nashua Silver Knights (5-5) built an early edge on Wednesday, but the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs (6-6) roared back to steal a 6-3 victory at Doyle Field.

While the Nashua Silver Knights led until the fourth inning, the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs worked their way back and took the lead on a solo home run by Chris Chiaradio.

Chiaradio racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs. He singled in the third inning and homered in the fourth inning.

The Nashua Silver Knights had no answer for TJ Santiago, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Santiago gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out five during his four innings of work.

Tyler Schwanz led the Nashua Silver Knights' offensive threat, as he got on base three times in the game. He scored one run and had one RBI. He homered in the third inning.

Zach Zona recorded his first win of the year for the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs. He allowed three runs over five innings. He struck out six, walked five and surrendered four hits.

Kevin Magee was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just four innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed five runs.
