A walk-off single from Brian Campbell brought home the winning run for the Marthas Vineyard Sharks (14-8) in a 6-5 victory over the Nashua Silver Knights in 10 innings at Vineyard Baseball Park on Friday.
Campbell was solid at the plate for the Marthas Vineyard Sharks. Campbell went 4-6, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the third, seventh, ninth, and tenth innings.
Donovan Casey rocked the Nashua Silver Knights (11-10) with two home runs. Casey went 2-5 in the game with four RBIs and two runs scored. Casey homered in the first, seventh, and seventh innings.
Brian Rapp had an impressive outing against the Nashua Silver Knights' lineup. The Nashua Silver Knights managed just two hits off of Rapp, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out five during his four innings of work.
Mike Parmentier improved to 2-2 on the year by picking up the win for the Marthas Vineyard Sharks. Parmentier struck out none, walked none and gave up no hits.
Matthew Messier couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Nashua Silver Knights, taking a loss. He lasted just 2 2/3 innings, walked two, struck out none, and allowed one run.
