The Chatham Anglers (2-1) didn't stand a chance on Thursday, as the Brewster Whitecaps (3-0) captured a blowout 6-0 win at Stony Brook.

The Brewster Whitecaps scored two runs in the third on the Brewster Whitecaps scored in the third on a sacrifice fly by Tyler Ramirez and an RBI single by Eli White.

Cassidy Brown was solid at the plate for the Brewster Whitecaps. Brown went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the second inning and homered in the sixth inning.

The Chatham Anglers had no answer for Brandon Gold, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Chatham Anglers managed just two hits off of the the Brewster Whitecaps' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out none during his four innings of work.

Jonathan Teaney was effective even in defeat, mowing down five the Brewster Whitecaps batters and allowing one run.

Alex Schick got the win, running his season record to 1-0. Schick struck out one, walked none and gave up no hits.

Gabe Friese was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just four innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed four runs.
