Michael Valadez knocked in three runs as the Schaumburg Boomers (40-55) took home a 5-2 victory over the Normal CornBelters (60-35) at The Corn Crib on Saturday.

Brett Mabry picked up the win for the Schaumburg Boomers. Mabry allowed one earned run, three hits and one walk while striking out three over eight innings of work.

Chandler Jagodzinski was effective even in defeat, mowing down six the Schaumburg Boomers batters and allowing one run.

Jake Negrete ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked one, struck out six, and allowed four runs.
