Nik Balog had two extra base hits, helping the Evansville Otters (46-41) to a 4-1 victory over the Frontier Greys (39-48) on Thursday at Bosse Field.
He doubled in the fifth inning and homered in the seventh inning.Brett Marshall struck out nine, paving the way for a the Evansville Otters win. Marshall allowed one earned run, six hits and two walks over 8 1/3 innings.
Brandon Tierney was hot from the plate for the Frontier Greys. Tierney went 1-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the ninth inning.
Jordan Kraus had an impressive outing against the Evansville Otters' lineup. Kraus gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four during his four innings of work.
Liam OSullivan couldn't get it done on the bump for the Frontier Greys, taking a loss. He lasted just three innings, walked none, struck out four, and allowed four runs.
