Brown helps the Gateway Grizzlies down the Normal CornBelters 6-3

Blake Brown drove in four runs as the Gateway Grizzlies (35-49) took home a 6-3 victory over the Normal CornBelters (51-34) at GCS Ballpark on Tuesday.

He homered in the ninth inning.

Trevor Richards baffled the Normal CornBelters, striking out six batters. Richards allowed two earned runs, six hits and one walk over seven innings.

A bright spot for the Normal CornBelters in the defeat was Jake Negrete, who allowed only one run while striking out seven.

Santiago Chirino had a hot bat for the Normal CornBelters. Chirino went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the first inning and homered in the fourth inning.

Jordan Wellander recorded his third win of the year for the Gateway Grizzlies. He allowed one run over one inning. He struck out one, walked one and surrendered one hit.

Cole Brocker couldn't get it done on the hill for the Normal CornBelters, taking a loss. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked three, struck out one, and allowed four runs.
