A bright spot for the Schaumburg Boomers in the defeat was Taylor Thurber, who allowed only three runs while striking out six.

Ty Nelson had two extra-base hits for the Schaumburg Boomers. He doubled in the third inning and tripled in the fifth inning.

Tommy Nance got the win, running his season record to 1-1. He allowed two runs over 1 2/3 innings. He struck out none, walked one and surrendered two hits.

Evan Boyd (0-3) took the loss for the Schaumburg Boomers. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked one, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
