Hunter Ridge went 1-3, helping the Joliet Slammers (27-37) to a 4-1 victory over the Frontier Greys (28-34) on Friday at Silver Cross Field.

Adam Giacalone kept contact to a minimum, striking out six the Frontier Greys batters. Giacalone allowed one earned run on six hits and no walks over seven innings.

The Joliet Slammers had no answer for Kyle Bogese, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Bogese held the Joliet Slammers hitless over three innings, allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out four.

Max Duval ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked none, struck out three, and allowed four runs.
