The Joliet Slammers (25-36) beat the Schaumburg Boomers (25-36) 8-6 on Tuesday at Schaumburg Baseball Stadium behind Carlos Lopez, who collected three hits.

The Schaumburg Boomers were led by Craig Massey's hitting. Massey went 3-5, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the first, fifth, and seventh innings.

Andrew Strenge got the win, running his season record to 6-5. He allowed three runs over six innings. Strenge struck out two, walked two and gave up five hits.

Hideyoshi Otake (4-3) took the loss for the Schaumburg Boomers. He lasted just one inning, walked two, struck out two, and allowed three runs.
