A walk-off solo home run from Toby DeMello brought home the winning run for the Southern Illinois Miners (40-21) in a 4-3 victory over the Frontier Greys (27-32) at Rent One Park, Marion, IL on Tuesday.

DeMello put himself in scoring position with three extra-base hits for the Southern Illinois Miners. He doubled in the fifth and seventh innings and homered in the ninth inning.

Brandon Cowan had an impressive outing against the Frontier Greys' lineup. Cowan held the Frontier Greys hitless over 2 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out none.

Pete Perez improved to 3-2 on the year by picking up the win for the Southern Illinois Miners. He struck out two, walked one and surrendered no hits.

Steven Wehr (0-1) took the loss for the Frontier Greys. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked none, struck out one, and allowed one run.
