The River City Rascals (30-24) and the Rockford Aviators (30-23) both threatened with rallies, but it was the River City Rascals that eventually took advantage of them in a 3-2 win at Aviator Stadium.

Joe Scanio struck out six hitters en route to the the River City Rascals win. Scanio allowed two earned runs on six hits and no walks over six innings.

Despite the loss, the Rockford Aviators' Kyle Hassna dominated the River City Rascals' batters, giving up three runs and striking out five.

Hassna ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year.
