The Schaumburg Boomers (22-28) jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost 7-5 to the Florence Freedom (23-27) on Saturday.

An RBI single by Daniel Fraga gave the Florence Freedom the lead in the eighth inning.

Collins Cuthrell reached base three times in the game for the Florence Freedom. He scored three runs and had one RBI. He homered in the ninth inning.

Seth Harvey improved to 2-2 on the year by picking up the win for the Florence Freedom. Harvey struck out one, walked none and gave up no hits.

Evan Boyd (0-1) took the loss for the Schaumburg Boomers. He lasted just three innings, walked none, struck out two, and allowed one run.
