Elijah Trail went 1-3 and hit a home run, helping the Rockford Aviators (25-14) to a 1-0 victory over the Florence Freedom (18-24) on Thursday at Aviator Stadium.

He homered in the seventh inning.

Payton Baskette baffled the Florence Freedom, striking out six batters. The Rockford Aviators' pitcher gave up just three hits over five shutout innings.

A bright spot for the Florence Freedom in the defeat was Jeremy Gooding, who allowed only one run while striking out five.

Justin Harris went a perfect 2-2 at the dish for the Florence Freedom. He singled in the second and ninth innings.

Eric Cendejas improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Rockford Aviators. Cendejas struck out one, walked one and gave up no hits.

Gooding (2-2) took the loss for the Florence Freedom.
