Brandon Tierney collected three hits, sparking the Frontier Greys (18-22) to a 5-4 victory over the Schaumburg Boomers (18-24) on Thursday at Schaumburg Boomers Stadium.

Despite the loss, the Schaumburg Boomers' Raul Jacobson dominated the Frontier Greys' batters, giving up one run and striking out six.

Justin Vasquez was solid at the plate for the Schaumburg Boomers. Vasquez went 3-4, drove in one and scored one run. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the seventh and eighth innings.

Nick McBride recorded his first win of the year for the Frontier Greys. McBride struck out none, walked none and gave up one hit.

Jake Joyce (0-3) took the loss for the Schaumburg Boomers. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked two, struck out none, and allowed three runs.
