The Southern Illinois Miners (22-13) took home a marathon 4-3 victory over the Traverse City Beach Bums (22-11) on Wednesday at Rent One Park, Marion, IL.

With the score tied at three, hit a sacrifice fly, scoring Adrian English.

Niko Vasquez racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Southern Illinois Miners. He homered in the third inning and doubled in the seventh inning.

Adam Lopez baffled the Traverse City Beach Bums, striking out six batters. Lopez allowed two earned runs on five hits and two walks over seven innings.

Sam Bumpers had a hot bat for the Traverse City Beach Bums. Bumpers went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He tripled in the second inning and singled in the ninth innings.

Pete Perez improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Southern Illinois Miners. He struck out two, walked none and surrendered one hit.

Bret Dahlson was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked none, struck out none, and allowed one run.
