Steve Marino went 2-4 and hit a home run, helping the Southern Illinois Miners (18-11) to a 2-1 victory over the Washington Wild Things (12-17) on Wednesday at CONSOL Energy Park.

Matt Bywater kept contact to a minimum, striking out nine the Washington Wild Things batters. Bywater allowed one earned run on six hits and two walks over six innings.

Luke Wilkins was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked three, struck out three, and allowed two runs.
