Both the Washington Wild Things (11-15) and the Lake Erie Crushers (8-15) put runners aboard on Saturday, but it was the Washington Wild Things that were able to take advantage, pulling out a 3-1 win at All Pro Freight Stadium.

Sam Mende put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Washington Wild Things. He doubled in the second and fourth innings.

Matt Sergey kept contact to a minimum, striking out six the Lake Erie Crushers batters. Sergey allowed one earned run on four hits and three walks over six innings.

Hunter Adkins (0-2) took the loss for the Lake Erie Crushers. He lasted just seven innings, walked none, struck out six, and allowed three runs.
