Early lead gives the River City Rascals easy victory over the Normal CornBelters, 10-3

The River City Rascals (15-10) jumped out to an early lead on the Normal CornBelters (16-9) and captured a 10-3 victory on Friday at T. R. Hughes Ballpark.

With six runs in the first three innings, the River City Rascals left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

An RBI single by Brian Hansen, a sacrifice fly by Danny Canela, and a sacrifice fly by Hector Crespo during the first inning and a groundout by Curran Redal in the second inning helped the River City Rascals put some runs on the board early.

Saxon Butler racked up two RBIs on two hits for the River City Rascals. He singled in the second inning and homered in the third inning.

Richard Lucas racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Normal CornBelters. He singled in the fourth inning and homered in the sixth inning.

Joe Scanio improved to 4-2 on the year by picking up the win for the River City Rascals. He allowed three runs over seven innings. Scanio struck out five, walked none and gave up nine hits.

Chris Carmain couldn't get it done on the hill for the Normal CornBelters, taking a loss. He allowed nine runs in 4 2/3 innings, walked none and struck out two.
