Ryan Brockett kept the Normal CornBelters (17-13) off the board during his six innings of work and the Southern Illinois Miners (20-12) beat the Normal CornBelters, 3-0.
Brockett allowed two hits, three walks and struck out five.
Jerrud Sabourin was hot from the plate for the Southern Illinois Miners. Sabourin went 3-4 and scored one run. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the fourth and ninth innings.
Despite the loss, the Normal CornBelters' Chris Carmain dominated the Southern Illinois Miners' batters, giving up three runs and striking out six.
Carmain was charged with his second loss of the year.
