The Evansville Otters (9-3) beat the Lake Erie Crushers (5-7) 6-2 on Thursday at All Pro Freight Stadium behind John Schultz, who went 2-4.

Preston Olson brought the heat against the Lake Erie Crushers during his outing. The Lake Erie Crushers managed just two hits off of the the Evansville Otters' pitcher, who allowed one earned run, walked three and struck out five during his seven innings of work.

The Lake Erie Crushers were led by Ty Nelson's hitting. Nelson went 1-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the fourth inning.

Peter Gehle (1-1) took the loss for the Lake Erie Crushers. He lasted just five innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed three runs.
