The Joliet Slammers (6-5) built an early edge on Wednesday, but the Rockford Aviators (10-1) roared back to steal a 4-2 victory at Aviator Stadium.

The Rockford Aviators took the lead in the sixth inning on a two-run home run by Greg Velazquez.

Velazquez racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Rockford Aviators. He homered in the sixth inning and doubled in the eighth inning.

The Rockford Aviators relied on Kyle Brueggemann to eat up innings en route to the win. Brueggemann allowed one earned run, five hits and no walks while striking out five over 6 2/3 innings of work.

Chris Serritella racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Joliet Slammers. He homered in the first innings.

Aaron Vaughn (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just six innings, walked three, struck out two, and allowed three runs.
