The Joliet Slammers (4-4) pounded the Gateway Grizzlies (2-6) on Saturday 14-5 at Silver Cross Field.

Andrew Strenge improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Joliet Slammers. He allowed four runs over six innings. Strenge struck out two, walked one and gave up seven hits.

Vincent Molesky couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Gateway Grizzlies, taking a loss. He allowed six runs in 4 2/3 innings, walked four and struck out four.
