Kurt Wertz Jr. went 1-2, sparking the Evansville Otters (48-48) to a 3-1 victory in seven innings over the Traverse City Beach Bums (56-38) on Saturday at Bosse Field.

Preston Olson picked up the win for the Evansville Otters. Olson pitched six innings and allowed one earned run, four hits and no walks while striking out two.

Yazy Arbelo was solid at the plate for the Traverse City Beach Bums. Arbelo went 1-3, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the fourth inning.

Chuck Ghysels brought the heat against the Evansville Otters during his outing. Ghysels held the Evansville Otters hitless over 1 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.

Casey Delgado couldn't get it done on the bump for the Traverse City Beach Bums, taking a loss. He lasted just 4 2/3 innings, walked two, struck out eight, and allowed three runs.
