Frank Martinez knocked in three runs, helping the Southern Illinois Miners (2-0) to a 4-1 victory over the Lake Erie Crushers (0-2) on Saturday at All Pro Freight Stadium.

Adam Lopez's eight strikeouts helped the Southern Illinois Miners to the victory. Lopez allowed one earned run on three hits and one walk over seven innings.

The Southern Illinois Miners' lineup had no answer for Kolby Moore. Moore held the Southern Illinois Miners hitless over one inning, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.

Brad Zambron ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just four innings, walked three, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
