Brick Paskiewicz was cold coming off the bench, but Paskiewicz warmed up quickly as Paskiewicz stroked a key pinch-hit triple in the seven to lead the Matsu Miners (15-4) to a 5-4 win over the Chugiak Chinooks (10-11) on Tuesday at Loretta French Field.

With the score tied at two, Paskiewicz came to the plate and tripled.

Paskiewicz was hot from the plate for the Matsu Miners. Paskiewicz went 2-5 and scored one run.

Matt Diorio racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Matsu Miners. He singled in the third and seventh innings and doubled in the ninth inning.

Brigham Hill's six strikeouts were enough to push the Matsu Miners past the Chugiak Chinooks. Hill allowed two earned runs on four hits and one walk over six innings.

Braxton Wilks allowed no earned runs, five hits and three walks while striking out four over 5 2/3 innings of work.

Jason Karkenny was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked none, struck out none, and allowed two runs.
