Sherman leads the Yakima Valley to 10-0 win over the Grays Harbor

An outstanding effort by Karsten Sherman spurred the Yakima Valley (7-3) to a 10-0 win in seven innings over the Grays Harbor (1-11) on Saturday at Parker Field .

Sherman racked up five RBIs on four hits for the Yakima Valley. He homered in the second inning, doubled in the third inning, singled in the fourth inning, and tripled in the sixth inning.

Six runs in the opening three innings allowed the Yakima Valley to easily put away the Grays Harbor. An RBI single by Jake Manson in the first inning and a solo home run by Sherman and a fielder's choice during the second inning supplied the early offense for the Yakima Valley.

Chad Richter pitched lights out for the Yakima Valley. The Grays Harbor managed just two hits off of the the Yakima Valley's pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four during his five innings of work.

Nathan Griffith (0-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed seven runs in three innings, walked one and struck out none.
