Both the Hannibal Cavemen (15-37) and the Chillicothe Paints (34-22) put runners aboard on Sunday, but it was the Hannibal Cavemen that were able to take advantage, pulling out a 5-2 win at Clemens Field.
It was a good day at the plate for the Hannibal Cavemen's Troy Wehde. Wehde went 3-4 and drove in one. He singled in the third and sixth innings and doubled in the eighth inning.
Jake Eikleberry got the win, running his season record to 6-1. He allowed two runs over seven innings. Eikleberry struck out two, walked one and gave up 10 hits.
Jason Byers was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just four innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
