A magnificent effort by Samuel Higgs led the Terre Haute Rex (40-13) to a 1-0 win over the Chillicothe Paints (34-21) on Saturday at Bob Warn Field at Sycamore Stad.

Higgs kept the Chillicothe Paints off the board during his eight innings of work. Higgs allowed three hits, no walks and struck out four.

Shane Wellman ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked one, struck out four, and allowed one run.
