Dylan Harvey went 1-3, helping the West Virginia Miners (31-22) to a 5-2 victory over the Jamestown Jammers (24-29) on Thursday at Diethrick Park.
He singled in the fifth inning.The Jamestown Jammers couldn't get anything going so long as Tyler Rowe was on the hill. The Jamestown Jammers managed just three hits off of the the West Virginia Miners' pitcher, who allowed one earned run, walked five and struck out five during his six innings of work.
Matthew Hoeg had a hot bat for the Jamestown Jammers. Hoeg went 2-4 and scored one run. He singled in the seventh inning and tripled in the ninth inning.
Masashi Sakamoto got the win, running his season record to 4-1. He allowed one run over two innings. He struck out none, walked two and surrendered two hits.
Matt Shannon was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just 7 2/3 innings, walked four, struck out one, and allowed five runs.
