The Butler BlueSox (27-25) didn't stand a chance on Wednesday, as the Chillicothe Paints (33-19) captured a blowout 9-3 win at VA Memorial Stadium.

A two-run double by Matt Eppers and a two-run single by Chad Roberts helped the Chillicothe Paints score four runs in the fifth. The Chillicothe Paints had four hits in the inning.

Roberts racked up five RBIs on four hits for the Chillicothe Paints.

Patrick Riehl had an impressive outing against the Butler BlueSox's lineup. Riehl held the Butler BlueSox hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out five.

David Marcus went a perfect 3-3 at the dish for the Butler BlueSox. He singled in the first and eighth innings and doubled in the ninth inning.

Jake Shields improved to 2-2 on the year by picking up the win for the Chillicothe Paints. He allowed one run over five innings. He struck out two, walked two and surrendered six hits.

Andre Jones (3-3) took the loss for the Butler BlueSox. He lasted just four innings, walked three, struck out none, and allowed five runs.
