The Terre Haute Rex take out the Danville Dans with help from Kempf, 7-3

Kyle Kempf went 2-4, sparking the Terre Haute Rex (37-11) to a 7-3 victory over the Danville Dans (26-24) on Sunday at Bob Warn Field at Sycamore Stad.

He tripled in the first inning and singled in the third inning.

Quinten Sefcik got the win for the Terre Haute Rex thanks to seven strikeouts. Sefcik allowed two earned runs, four hits and one walk over six innings.

Zack Gibson had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He doubled in the first and fifth innings.

The Terre Haute Rex had no answer for Connor Mitchell, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Mitchell gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three during his 2 1/3 innings of work.

Bryce Reichmann (4-3) took the loss for the Danville Dans. He allowed six runs in 2 2/3 innings, walked two and struck out two.
