The Quincy Gems (18-27) beat the Hannibal Cavemen (10-31) 7-4 in seven innings on Tuesday at Clemens Field behind Anthony Villa, who had two extra base hits.

Lane Hanzel got the win, running his season record to 2-1. He allowed two runs over four innings. Hanzel struck out four, walked none and gave up four hits.

Zach Carstens ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just four innings, walked two, struck out three, and allowed four runs.
