The Quincy Gems (15-26) didn't put up much of a fight on Saturday, as the Chillicothe Paints (25-17) cruised to a blowout 8-0 win at VA Memorial Stadium.

The Chillicothe Paints scored three runs in the eighth on the Chillicothe Paints scored in the eighth on an RBI single by Chad Roberts, an error, and a fielder's choice.

Grant Miller led the Chillicothe Paints' offensive threat, as he got on base four times in the game. He singled in the first and eighth innings.

Adam Niemeyer brought the heat against the Quincy Gems during his outing. The Quincy Gems managed just three hits off of Niemeyer, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one during his five innings of work.

The Quincy Gems were led by Austin Piscotty's hitting. Piscotty went 3-4. He doubled in the fifth inning and singled in the second and ninth innings.

Elvin Ramos was charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just 3 2/3 innings, walked five, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
