David Jacob went 4-4 at the plate, sparking the Springfield Sliders (19-21) to a 6-5 victory over the West Virginia Miners (25-15) on Thursday at Robin Roberts Field.

Dan Ward racked up three RBIs on four hits for the West Virginia Miners. He singled in the first and fifth innings and doubled in the third and seventh innings.

Avery Brandon recorded his third win of the year for the Springfield Sliders. He allowed one run over two innings. He struck out three, walked none and surrendered two hits.

Lyndale Morley ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just two innings, walked none, struck out none, and allowed one run.
